Like its competitors, Discogs and MusicStack, the France based site, CDandLP.com, allows you to list your second hand CDs and vinyl for free and sell them to a large community of music lovers. You pay a commission to the site owners after you make a sale.

The sales commission as of 2019 is calculated as follows:

  • 12.5% excl. VAT (15% incl. VAT) of the total of the order on the section between 0 and 150 Euros included.
  • 8.4% excl. VAT (10% incl. VAT) of the total of the order on the section between 150.01 and 300 Euros included
  • 4.2% excl. VAT (5% incl. VAT) of the total of the order on the section beyond 300.01 Euros

As you can see, their system favours larger retailers who are likely to sell in bulk. The 15% of the sale value for orders under 150 Euros is quite high, especially compared to rival site, Discogs.

Discogs also lets you list your items for free, but charges an 8% fee with a minimum of $0.10 and a maximum of $150. Here are some examples:

  • $1 item = $0.10 (minimum fee)
  • $100 item = $8.00 (8% fee)
  • $5,000 item = $150 (maximum fee)
